Congress is returning to Washington D.C. after a nice summer’s vacation to do the people’s business.
They may have attended town hall meetings and met with their constituents but I doubt it, members of congress have shied away from such activities since passing Obamacare and really people don’t believe they will listen much anyway.
The so-called conservative members of congress are talking about putting a stop to government funding of Planned Parenthood but others are saying it can’t be done because it will hold the budget hostage and even if they could get it though President Obama would just veto such legislation anyway.
So it goes with congress. No one has the stomach to fight for what’s right. Rarely, and I mean rarely, will so-called Christians stand up to the godless in a unified way.
They fall for the same lousy arguments that if you try to do something the progressive libs oppose they will shut down the government. Take Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) (please), she has crafted legislation that would put a freeze (not remove) on government funding for Planned Parenthood while they investigate the recently released videos of them selling baby body parts.
Black claims to be a conservative, yet she too makes the same gutless argument that they just can’t win right now and trying to de-fund the murders at Planned Parenthood would only embolden the pro-abortion congressmen and women.
Give me a break.
Let them try. Supposedly, Republicans control both houses of congress. Pass a real budget without Planned Parenthood, eliminate wasteful spending and make a host of other cuts that will give liberals true conniption fits and let President Obama veto it, then work to override it.
It has been done before, and by the way you can do all of this before the clock runs out so you don’t look the fool.
While we’re at it, this Saturday, September 12 is the National Day of Remembrance of Aborted Children. Let Congress make it official and see what the president does.
