Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi attempted to quote her so-called favorite Bible verse but couldn’t remember where it is found and she missed the point of the verse at the same time.
It should come as no surprise to anyone that a liberal politician such as Nancy Pelosi, who claims to be a devout Catholic even as she supports abortion and homosexuality, does not know her bible.
The San Francisco Democrat attempted to quote her favorite bible verse from Matthew but then admitted that she didn’t know where it was in the bible but that “it was in there somewhere”.
She said, “I believe, as many of us do — certainly in this room — that we’re all God’s children. There’s a spark of divinity that exists inside of each of us. Our immigrants, at the border, in each of us, including ourselves.”
“And we have an obligation to treat people with respect, but we have a responsibility with that spark of our own to act upon it.”
“When people talk about the Gospel of Matthew as being an inspiration to so many of us — When I was hungry you fed me, when I was naked, you clothed me, when I was homeless, you sheltered me, when I was in prison, you visited me — I always want to remind them that the rest of that gospel is the converse.”
“When I was hungry, you didn’t feed me. See, because at that day, God separates the — people.”
“When I was hungry, you fed me. When I was hungry, you didn’t feed me.”
“And I can’t find it in the Bible, but I use— I quote it all the time. I keep reading and reading the Bible, I know it’s there someplace, it’s supposed to be in Isaiah.”
“But I heard a bishop say, to minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship — to ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.”
“It’s there somewhere in some words or another, but certainly the spirit of it is there.”
Apparently, the spark that she believes is in every person is not in the unborn children that the Speaker supports killing. Does she not realize that a child of any age is also God’s creation and that we “dishonor the God” who made them as well as us when we kill them?
By the way, the scripture she attempted to quote is Matthew 25:35. Would “the least of these” that Jesus spoke of include babies in the womb? I believe that it would.
Watch:
The Matthew Scripture:
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[f] you did it to me.’
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:25-35
