US Senate Will Not Protect Babies Born Alive

The United States Senate will not oppose infanticide if a botched abortion results in a child being born alive. The vote to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act sponsored by Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse failed reach the 60 votes it needed.

Senator Sasse challenged upper house of congress to prove their opposition to infanticide following the horrific comments of Virginia governor Ralph Northam (notice he’s not in the news, btw) concerning the fate of babies born while a mother and her doctor make their minds and the recent New York law that only bestows person-hood on a born individual.

Only 53 senators would stand up to infanticide and protect babies born alive, just 7 more votes would have proved that congress has a heart. The act would have required that doctors must act when a child is born alive following a failed abortion instead of just allowing them to die.

The criminal code would be amended to read, “prohibit a health care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion.”

It continues, “If an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States, and entitled to all the protections of such laws,” reads the legislation, adding: “Any infant born alive after an abortion or within a hospital, clinic, or other facility has the same claim to the protection of the law that would arise for any newborn, or for any person who comes to a hospital, clinic, or other facility for screening and treatment or otherwise becomes a patient within its care.”

There were but 3 US Senators of the Democrat party who voted for the legislation: Sen. Bob Casey Jr. (D-PA), Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) while all six of the Democrats running for president of the United States could not be bothered to oppose infanticide.

It should be noted that of the Republican Senators, 50 voted for the act, Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska declined to vote (another way of voting with the godless) and two Senators, Tim Scott (SC) and Kevin Cramer (ND), were delayed by their flights and missed the vote.

The bottom line is that Ben Sasse was hoping to make a point with this Born-Alive legislation and unfortunately we know where many in the United States Senate stand on the rights of children and on infanticide in America.

They stand with the butchers of history.
