Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) says a lot of stuff, most of it is wacky and a little unhinged. Why should we be paying attention to someone who never lets a trivial thing like facts get in the way of her outlandish statements?
It turns out that in recent polling that more than 70% of democrats would consider her for the office of President if she were eligible (she is but 29 and you have to be 35).
She is able to break the news cycle as she is considered to be the darling of the left and the nightmare of the right according to leading pundits and Ocasio-Cortez herself.
Many of her beliefs and ideologies are trendy among the more ignorant left and nonsensical to people living in the real world where fact matter.
Take her statements over the weekend at a Martin Luther King forum in New York City where she was interviewed by Ta-Nehisi Coates. She was asked if the very existence of billionaires was immoral.
Ocasio-Cortez stated: “I do think a system that allows billionaires to exist when there are parts of Alabama where people are still getting ringworm because they don’t have access to public health is wrong.”
Then there are here statements on climate change:
“And I think the part of it that is generational is that millennials and people, in Gen Z, and all these folks that come after us are looking up and we’re like, the world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change. You’re
How are we saying take it easy, the America that we’re living in today is dystopian is generational sleeping in their cars so they can work a second job these folks and we’re told to settle down. It’s
It is easy to dismiss her thoughts as radical or stupid but that is a mistake because an increasing number of people agree with such thoughts. They may be among the minority but AOC and others of the radical left are moving the needle among those not so radical leftists, if such a group still remains.
