Early believers in Jesus were not known as Christians, but rather people of the Way. This “way” shows up often in scripture including today’s verse in Psalms 25.
Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he teaches sinners in the way. -Psalms 25:8
The way refers to God’s way of living. As believers in Jesus, we have been forgiven of our sins, we have chosen to repent of our sinful lifestyle in favor of living life according to the ways of God. This is why our Lord and Master described Himself as the Way.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. – John 14:6
You see Jesus and the whole of scripture clearly teach that there is a way to live that is different from the way the world lives. This way is found by the power of the Holy Spirit in the pages of scripture. This is why daily bible reading is so important. We should allow the Lord to teach sinners His way.
