Gun control, that rallying cry for president Obama and progressives is making headlines once again as the president looks to circumvent Congress and help the Islamic state by restricting American’s access to self-defense.
Mr. Obama’s boss Valerie Jarrett made a statement that the president was looking for ways to close the so-called gun show loophole. She did this at a memorial for the victims of the Connecticut school shooting this week.
The president has been signaling that he is looking for ways to limit Second Amendment rights in any way that he can following the stellar successes of mass shooters in gun restricted areas and states.
It is interesting to note that during Pres. Obama’s tenure there have been record gun sales with over 100 million guns being sold in the last seven years.
To be clear, Jesus stated that he who lives by the sword will die by the sword and I think we can infer that this would include guns as well, but that is not what we’re talking about. Jesus referred to the acts of the violent, whereas what is at issue is the right to self-defense.
The Bible allows for the personal defense of one’s home and property as well as one’s life and the lives of their family. The American dream includes the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and these things are meant to be protected by the right to keep and bear arms.
A key part of the story of Purim found in the book of Esther is how Haman first removed the Jews right to weapons to make genocide easier. This has become a pattern throughout history when a nation is being conquered from within because it is easier for a tyrannical government to rule when no one can fight back.
The fact is Pres. Obama and all of the godless liberals would prefer that our Constitution did not include the Second Amendment because they would like to take all of our weapons and means of self-defense. Let’s face it this makes it easier for the Islamic state or anyone else who desires to conquer the United States and take away what little remains of our liberty.
