The bible teaches that the people of God perish because they lack vision and vision can be defined by seeing the road ahead clearly but also taking a map with you.
Conservatives lack a vision for what it even means to be conservative, so why can’t we define conservatism or least try?
Tweet ThisPastor Paul Holt attempts to do just that by laying out some principles for what it means to be a conservative especially where government is concerned.
The points for how we define conservatism:
-The source of rights and liberty come from God not government.
-The Lord provides our daily bread and the strength to earn it, not the government.
-Government power should be extremely limited because power corrupts people and the government is made up of people.
-Laws and Regulations should be limited too because they bring power to the government.
-People should keep most (95%) of what they earn, what is given to the government should build infrastructure and defend the country from enemies foreign and domestic.
-No person should ever serve in government for more than a decade as it corrupts them.
-There is more but I want to be conservative.
