Long before the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ scholars would argue over what appeared to be two Messiahs, one was described as Messiah son of Joseph the other Messiah son of David.
it appeared as if the Scriptures were describing two different people but what they did not realize is that Scripture was describing Jesus as the suffering servant and man of sorrows in his first coming and the conquering King in his second.
As tends to be human nature most preferred Messiah son of David because who does not enjoy the idea of evil being snuffed out but there is a problem. You see, the Lord loves you and I and does not wish for anyone to perish and so he came first to suffer for us that we might live.
In Genesis chapter 41 Joseph weeps for his brothers so loud that he is heard throughout the palace. As a type of Christ, Joseph gives us insight into how badly the Lord wants to be reconciled with us. Jesus is often depicted as weeping for his people and we are told that God so loved the world that he sent Jesus to give his life for us.
Even now the Lord longs to be reunited with you and like Joseph he understands that sin separates us and it breaks his heart. His desire is to reveal himself to us and show us the great love that he has for each and every one of us.
No send is too great. Just look at Joseph’s brothers they wanted to kill them but instead sold him into slavery. Jesus knows of the darkness in each one of our hearts but he still loves us enough to forgive us and welcome us back.
Are we willing to set aside our anger, our pain and even our pride to step out of the darkness and into the light to walk with him? He is willing, if you are willing you just need to ask.
