There is a storm on the horizon, a worldwide storm the likes of which the world has not seen since the 1920’s and 30’s. It is a storm that transcends the economic and governmental boundaries that defined previous shakeups by changing the world as we know it.
This according to Jim Rogers, famed investor and author in his article entitled, “What’s Coming Is Going to Be a Mess” where he makes the point that following the British exit of the EU things are about to get much worse in the next few years.
Rogers makes the statement in his article that “As economies worsen, there will be more social unrest, more angry people, and crazier politicians. Somebody will try to come along on a white horse to save us all, but she usually makes it worse.”
I will deal with the white horse statement in a moment but Rogers goes on to analyze the stock markets and economies of the world and comes to the conclusion that all of the central banks are carrying too much debt and are looking to the United States for stability as they did before the stock market crash of 1928 when it is plain that there is no stability in the US as we have even more debt that we did in 2008 when the economy took a nose dive.
He makes the point that the reason the world economy is looking good on the surface is that the various central banks are printing money like there is no tomorrow, probably because for much of the world’s economies there isn’t a tomorrow.
This will set the stage for a situation similar to that of the late 20’s and much of the 30’s where communism and fascism took hold in much of the world and presented us with World War 2.
There is a spiritual component to all of this as World War 2 and the evil that was fought was but a dress rehearsal for the dictatorships of the last days with the ultimate dictator being the antichrist.
Remember that white horse Jim Rogers mentioned? I doubt he had any idea of the prophetic implications he made, but the bible does describe a rider of a white horse that is not Jesus during a time of great economic upheaval and when peace is taken from the earth.
The turmoil of Venezuela will soon spread to its neighbors as hundreds of thousands are clamoring to get into Columbia just to get food and basic necessities. Other societies are beginning to fall apart around the world as violence and unrest are destabilizing them; the world is ripe for change and not the good kind.
We should remember that these things were predicted in scripture and directly from the Lord Himself and we should not be taken by surprise. While I am not a prepper per se, I was a boy scout before they stopped being boy scouts and I think we should look at common sense ways to be ready.
Jesus warned that when the antichrist rises up and descends upon Jerusalem, running for the hills would be advisable, but we should take the full counsel of God and be prepared to feed others not just look out for our own needs.
This means that more than ever we need to be a church, a fellowship of believers preparing to care for each other physically and spiritually.
I don’t share these things to frighten you but to remind you that we are to know the season in which we live and prepare accordingly so we don’t claim that the Lord never warned us of these things, because He did.
