The Freedom From Religion foundation has once again demanded God be removed from the public square, this time demanding that a God Bless America sign be that has hung on a post office since 9/11 be taken down.
The United States post office in Pittsburg, KS has had the God Bless America sign with the American flag on the side of its building as a symbol of hope since the Muslim terrorist attacks to rally people together but the atheist group demanded its removal.
The post office caved because their regulations limit signage to official items only, so the sign was retired to appease the godless organization and avoid conflict.
But now the rest of the story.
The good people of Pittsburg, Kansas understood that such sentiments as God Bless America could not be displayed on government property but that did not sit well with them as they enjoyed having God’s blessings and so they did something about it.
That single sign, that had remained on the side of the post office for more than 14 years, was soon replaced by more than 1,500 signs that were hung around the town of little more than 20,000 residents.
Before long the atheists who were so bothered by the sign of God’s blessings could not go a block without seeing the American flag and the words God Bless America.
Jakes Fireworks, a local business, reportedly had the “God Bless America” signs printed up, and handed them out to locals.
That is what is needed in the United States of America, the willingness of her citizens to make a stand for God and for Jesus Christ. There are many organizations like the Freedom From Religion foundation that are working to remove God from American life, but when Christians take a stand against them and lovingly display their faith, that is when we see God truly bless America.
