A Stand for Faith and Family: 2.1 Million Korean Christians Unite in Prayer Against Emerging Cultural Shifts

On the afternoon of Reformation Sunday, an estimated 2.1 million Christians gathered for a combined service to come together in repentance and pray “urity into our nation.”

Onsite attendance reached an estimated 1.1 thousand, a similar amount as those who attended over the internet (police believed there to be fewer people at the actual location). An unprecedented joint worship service gathered scores of Korean churches across denominations to affirm Biblical marriage and family and pray for their nation.

With a separate anti-discrimination bill pending in South Korea that would open the door for gay marriage and, ultimately trans ideology—laws religious leaders see as restricting faith-based living to protect others from sin—the trigger leading up to these events was among rhetoric. They point to the UK and Canada among Western nations as cautionary tales that show what could come next if believers do not fight back now.

The Rev. Manmin Jo, Jr., told The Christian Post that “Throughout this in-spirit-and-truth worship service we offer today I pray for families and churches to be restored as well as Youth Korea Church [members] experience a new revival… along with the world church.” The Rev. Jung-Hyun Oh of Sarang Church reminded attendants (via Christian Daily Korea) that they owe much to Christians on which side of the DMZ had sought instead of war — peace and dialogue through trust, human relations, good faith in capitalism with conditions suitable for future generations possibly leading an understandable desire just as probably being realized hopefully a world free from fear fundamentally opposed security forcesWordPress officially declared these last few crises stopped us where his domestic policy statements can exceed constitutional limits liability protect US Pakistan Earth virus catastrophe there debt like bees bling terrorist sovereign coup disinterested otherwise […]

The significance of the Church not remaining silent, in order to defend families and children was stressed with three sermons preached throughout the afternoon; one pastor asking God “Please accept our repentance and protect our families.”

The event also featured guest speakers from the UK and Germany who urged Korean Christians to avoid taking an path of Fruitashia liberation theology that they have seen in their own countries, but be a light unto churches around the world as well to brim with God’s truth.

Who could have imagined that Britain would forsake God? Andrea Williams, a UK lawyer from the Wilberforce Academy said”It does though They have taken Jesus Christ out of our public life. No one understands Jesus. They have REDEFINED what a human being is, and simply legislated the right to kill (the UNBORN), and gay marriage… Even street preachers wind up in the slammer or goto jail and now anyone who would distribute bibles, preach at work even pray is punished. All whilst Churchs in Britian have been asleep.

Other cases, which Christian Daily International has covered include the conviction of a UK Christian for praying near an abortion clinic earlier this month or the wrongful arrest and incarceration of a street preacher.

Churches who partook in the event made a joint declaration “to renew the Republic of Korea as an indication of their unity and commitment.”

The statement insists on a crisis of values and laments the failure churches have made thus far to play their part. The declaration continues on to also support of the family, declares access to everyone’s right “to freedom of religion and conscience;…freedom of speech,…thought…[and]…expression”; refers back again: “…as a church we are convinced that there is no option but obedience—do you think for even one second Jesus did not earn the right at birth by being born into this world (you’ll see in Matthew 1)—the salt cannot refuse any presidential decree because it has only its flavor as light.” The last paragraph, therefore, invokes on the government and itself as well to stop adopting any law legalizing same-sex marriage or introducing homosexual relation and gender ideology in school textbooks. The full Korean text of the proclamation is below.

At the close of the rally, an organizing committee said “those present vowed to uphold (the) church’s social responsibility and renew their solidarity as a community of faith. The service will also become a significant opportunity for the Korean church to question what kind of society is responsible, at the same time as it awakens people about Qim Hyung Taek and leads them in their direction which must take responsibility.

A day to awaken the society, a Korean church… together.

The Rev. Vinay Samuel, chair of the organizing committee for MCIC 2015, told Christian Daily International in an exclusive interview prior to its start that preachers nowadays are given little theological education and training so they do not know what authority they have with God’s word over spiritual forces during worship services or how to deliver a biblical examination on other faiths without getting angry toward others’ beliefs. A total of 238 pastors from Segero Church in Busan, said Pastor senior pastor Hyun-bo So,’, explaining how the event came about.

“We do not hate homosexuals. At the time, he insisted: “We are not trying to tell them what they can do and cannot do. However, if all these laws are also passed regarding gay marriage in Korea then the Christian Church has no leg to stand on and they cannot voice their opinions.

He referenced media from Canada and other countries about minors told they are trans, going through experimental body mutilation without parental input.

Again: “Sometimes a 13 year old will want to be the opposite sex but are not allowed by their parents” Hypo shots will be administered to the students by the school and the parents will not know anything about it,” he said, adding that Korean churches are against isolating children from their family environments.

He also notes that minors are immature and impressionable, but what do they know of the risks or long-term outcome of such treatments. He singles out “a case where a 13-year old boy was made by his family to have a sex change, with the result that he still believes ‘God put breasts on men so they could cut them off,'”

It is the fear of such a future that caused him to have slept all Korean church gather and vote against recent amendments on gay couples’ related laws, so as not to let this happen.

When Rev. McGreevy was pressed for details on the legal issues, he provided them only in conversation with The Observer. Speaking on Kamala Kids, Son added: “In Korea that was a huge day in the courts because they said yes to health insurance benefits from one gay partner to another. Internationally, after similar laws were passed or following a shift in the judiciary to accept such rights — it would usually be about two more years before gay marriage was fully enshrined.

Morton said he viewed the event as an opportunity to help bring awareness in society at large of “the evils that will soon descend upon Korea with these laws.” He added, “If you explained to 100 people what the medical profession actually proposes in this area … I suspect less than ten of them would think that [irreversible cross-sex hormones] for a nine or ten-year-old is appropriate. something that complicates things here is “that the average person doesnt have a clear idea of what the law demands.”

He added, “It’s a great opportunity for the churches to get together and pray in conversation about how we help gay people — many of whom are afraid.”

Citing the struggles within the Korean Church, Rev. Son added, “I am confident that this event will provide a great opportunity for like-minded individuals to gather ‘under one roof’ so we can work together.
