Coral Ridge Ministries (CRM) released the results of their 2024 Spiritual State of the Nation Survey, which polled 633 supporters, revealing the priority issues for American Evangelicals heading into the 2024 elections. The survey emphasized immigration, U.S. sovereignty, and abortion as the leading concerns. Immigration was highlighted by 56% of respondents as a critical issue, coinciding with record numbers of illegal border crossings reported by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Concerns about U.S. sovereignty and the influence of foreign entities were also significant, focusing on preserving national integrity and managing external influences.
Additionally, the survey respondents expressed strong opinions on abortion, particularly following the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, which led to various state-level legislative actions on abortion rights. Almost all respondents (98%) opposed codifying a right to abortion into federal law, reflecting a strong pro-life stance. The survey also uncovered broad support for religious freedom, with 95% advocating for the right to express religious beliefs in public life and a unanimous concern over legal challenges against those expressing religious or moral convictions. Other areas of consensus included the right to religious expression in schools, the alignment of organizational operations with moral values, and concerns over the spread of socialism and radical ideologies.
